About Us

Lower Allen Township is a suburban community of over 17,000 residents, encompassing 10 square miles in southcentral Pennsylvania. The township is diverse in both its landscape and infrastructure, featuring residential neighborhoods, apartment complexes, shopping centers, and rural areas, along with manufacturing facilities, industrial parks, trucking terminals, and a state correctional facility.

The Lower Allen Township Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency services from two stations, responding to over 800 calls for service annually. Our fleet includes two Engines, a Squad (Rescue-Engine),  a 100-foot Aerial Platform, a Utility truck, and two Chief’s vehicles—allowing us to effectively handle a wide range of emergencies.

Our response area includes several major transportation corridors, including Interstates 83 and 581, PA Route 15, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. These roadways contribute to a high call volume and present unique operational challenges.

In addition to emergency response, the Lower Allen Township Fire Department is actively engaged in fire prevention and public education initiatives throughout the year. We remain committed to protecting life and property while serving our community with professionalism, dedication, and pride.
