This evening, Lower Allen along with mutual aid units responded to Bethany Village West for an odor of smoke in the building. Bethany West is a multi-story elderly housing complex, Assisted Living, and Acute Care facility. This box alarm fills a normal First Alarm assignment plus extra units do to the population. First arriving units found smoke from an apartment patio on the first floor with fire conditions on the inside. The fire was contained to that apartment, however there was smoke and water damage to the hallway and neighboring apartments. Units were on scene for approximately an hour.
