This morning, the Squad was dispatched to Westport Drive to assist the Police Department. While en route, Squad 12 (Capt 2-12) was advised of a cat trapped in a car motor. The Squad arrived on scene to find LADPS and LAPD on scene with a cat whose leg was trapped in the fly-wheel. LAFD stabilized the car and removed parts of the undercarriage to access the cat. The Mechanicsburg Animal Emergency Medical Center responded to assist. The cat was sedated and removed from harm. The cat was taken to the medical center for emergency care. The cat is believed to have been struck by the car in Harrisburg and was trapped until he arrived in Mechanicsburg. LADPS hopes to hear an update on “Turbo” the cat later today. On behalf of the whole Public Safety Department, we would like to thank the Animal Center for responding and assisting with the incident.
Update: Turbo suffered no broken bones and is expected to make a full recovery.
