Early this morning company 12 was alerted for a house fire in Hampden Township. Just prior to leaving the ramp Engine company 12 was dispatched for a porch fire in the borough of Mechanicsburg. Due to the lack of resources in the area with the Hampden fire, Engine 1-12 responded to Mechanicsburg and was given the assignment to take side alpha. Engine 1-12’s crew stretched an 1′ 3/4 hand line to the second floor and immediately began an aggressive interior attack. Crews knocked the bulk of the fire and moved to the third floor. Heavy fire was found and as fire attack was underway, command ordered the evacuation tones to be set off due to rapidly diminishing conditions. Engine 1-12 and Truck 12 responded with a total of 9 personnel.
